Hey Reader, We all experience preconceived notions, limiting beliefs, disempowering thought patterns, and failures. The issue is when these become our roadblocks, and many times, the 'excuses' we use to not try something. Often, we treat these things as permanent in our lives. And until we realize that they're not fixed things and that we can therefore change them, nothing can change. That's why today I want to tell you about the concept of neuroplasticity. Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to rewire itself based on repetition. You seek to change your brain. To rewire it. To reprogram it. To give a situation a different meaning than the one you've been giving it. And it's always happening... Every day, you're rewiring your brain by:
Even right now, as you read this, ask yourself this question: Am I rewiring my brain daily to work in my favor or to accidentally work against me? Your mind influences everything in your life. And it doesn’t care about your goals, your intentions, or your vision boards. Your brain is constantly asking itself one question all the time. “What do we care about?” And it answers based on what it sees you do over and over again. The answer is based on your behavior, not on your goals. "The secret to becoming who you want to be is just pretending you already are. As a neuroscientist, it’s action that rewires the brain. Not the other way around." - Dr Dominic NG. You can say you want something all you want. You can talk all day, every day about how you want to start your own business, have more freedom, make more money, have stronger relationships, run a marathon, and take better care of your health. But until your actions show that's what you want, your mind won't believe you. As James Clear says, "every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become". Until you start taking the actions and start repeating the behavior attached to the outcomes that you want, your brain (and your identity, for that matter) won't support you. Neuroplasticity rewards repetition, not intention. You can 100% change your mind and therefore yourself. That's not the question. The question is whether you're willing to put in the effort necessary for that change. Wanting to change isn't a feeling, or a goal, or an intention. It's a decision. Your brain cannot work in your favor until you decide that change is something that is a 'must' in your life right now. So, the question you can ask yourself today is: "What am I currently training my brain to become?" And then, ask yourself: "What would I want my brain to become?" Start there. And as I always say, don't fake it until you make it. Instead, practice it (repetitively, over and over) until you become it. That's how real, lasting change happens. P.S. If you’ve been overthinking everything, putting pressure on yourself, and feeling stuck trying to “figure it all out”… This episode will change how you approach your life. Watch here.

Hey Reader, This is going to be a short one. I recently saw a question that helps you make decisions when you feel paralyzed by them. When you're considering big (or small) decisions, a simple question you can ask yourself is: "What would make the story better?" Or even, "What story would be the one I would want to tell?" Looking at the big picture, if you considered yourself the main character in a book or a movie, what is the storyline you would want to read or watch? What is the plot that...
Hey Reader, Quick question: have you ever waited for the perfect moment… and it never came? As you’re reading this, I’m driving up to Atlanta from Florida to go see the Let Them show by Mel Robbins tonight. It’s… not ideal timing. We’re driving 8 hours today, going to the show tonight, and driving back first thing tomorrow morning. And honestly? That’s exactly how most of the things we want in life show up. At the worst timing. When it feels like a thousand other things are happening. When life...
Hey Reader, I have to be honest, this past week I listened to an audiobook about time that completely changed how I see it. All my life, I have been at war with time. I always felt I was behind, late, or that I didn't have enough time to do things. I had always seen time as this restrictive constraint that was against me. Now, this is funny because the audiobook I've been listening to is called "Time is a Tool", by Dr. Benjamin Hardy and Blake Erickson, and it talks about how you can use the...
